Fantasy for Cello (2009) is a fast-paced and exciting work that explores a wide range of sonic color, from loud bangs to soft and evocative drones. This music has no program or underlying meaning. It is instead a no-holds-barred expression of romantic melodies and virtuosity. Composed in Fall 2009, this piece was premiered at Indiana University in January 2010 by cellist Eric Allen.

The software that accompanies this piece (Mac only) was developed using Max/MSP and can be run using Max/MSP Runtime, available as freeware at the Cycling 74 website. Thank you to John Gibson for creating the jg.specteq~ object and to Juhana Sadeharju for the gigaverb~ object, both of which are used in this work.
